Mrs. Dorothy Eyre Dameron

Dorothy Eyre Dameron went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2022. She was 95.

A memorial service will take place Friday March 4 at 11 am at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. Visitation will precede the service at 10:00 am. Burial will be later at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Dorothy was born July 11, 1926 to Robert and Alice Jones Eyre in Chester Pennsylvania. She married Raymond Dameron (deceased) in 1947. Dorothy is survived by daughter Beth (Randy) Carroll and by grandchildren Laura (Eric) Allen, Jennifer (Daniel) Lautzenheiser, and Seth (Morgan) Fearnow and great-grandchildren Elijah, Ethan and Ben.

Dorothy had a passion for teaching. She taught Greek at Covenant College, kindergarten at Lookout Mountain Elementary School and after retirement with the READ adult literacy program in Chattanooga. She spent a brief time in China as an English instructor. She was a member of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. She loved to read, travel, do crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, and tend to her many plants. She loved her family, friends and most of all her Lord and Savior. She was blessed by her many loving caregivers. We will miss her quick wit, dry humor and her determined spirit.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Dameron- Carroll scholarship at Covenant College or to Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.
