George (Jimmy) Morris

Chattanooga, TN:  George M. (Jimmy) Morris, 84, passed away on March 25, 2019. Jimmy grew up in Flat Rock, AL.  He graduated from Jacksonville State University, and earned his masters from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  He worked for the State of Georgia for over 25 years, retired at 55 years old, and was able to farm and live on the mountain he loved.  He loved to farm, collect antiques, and enjoyed bluegrass and gospel music.  He was proud to have four wonderful grandchildren; Coney Cunningham, Mary Glynn Miley, Cammie Cunningham, and Will Long.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Hester Morris; sister, Ruth Tidwell. Survivors include his loving wife Betty Jean Morris; daughters, Deborah Miley and Donna (Jim) Cunningham of Warner Robins, GA, Angela (David) Long, Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will be held in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 27, at 1:00 with Brother Jim Hixon officiating.  Interment will follow at Flat Rock Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home from 11:00 AM ~ 1:00 PM. Funeral arrangements made by Moore Funeral Home, Trenton, GA.
