Mr. Jackey Elrod

BRYANT, AL: John Martin “Jackey” Elrod, age 85, passed away on September 13, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed. Jackey was a veteran of the Korean War and member of Trenton Ministry Center. He was the owner and operator of Sand Mountain Welding and Machine Shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jewell David “Jude” and Dorothy Elrod; sister Beatrice “Bea” Cannon; brothers Alvin Elrod, Rodney Edward Elrod, and Leroy “Shorty” Elrod.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-six years, Thelma Elrod; daughters Rhonda (Vernell) Johnson, Huntsville, AL., Newana (Randy) Boles, Trenton, GA., Juanita (Anthony) Cannon, Rising Fawn, GA.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister Oma McBryar and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM EDT on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens with Brother Randy Tinker officiating.

A Celebration of Jackey's Life will be scheduled at Trenton Ministry Center at a later date.
