Alladine Avans Pruitt

Alladine Avans Pruitt, age 89, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Alladine was born in Trenton, Georgia, on January 26, 1937, to the late Arnold and Julia Reeves Avans. Alladine had a strong personality and an honest, straightforward way about her. Those who knew her always knew where she stood. She deeply loved her family, especially her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.

Alladine enjoyed gardening, cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and watching her favorite television show, Gunsmoke. She was of the Christian faith and held a special place in the hearts of those who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Alladine was preceded in death by her husband, Dinnie D. Pruitt; son, Allen Pruitt; brothers, Sam Avans, Oness Avans, and Fred Avans; and sisters, Cordellia Melton, Geraldine Palmer, and Maryellen Higdon.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Connie) Pruitt; granddaughter, Crystal (Michael) Newbelle; great-grandchildren, Harley and Skylar; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, Georgia. Alladine will be laid to rest at Brown Gap Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the service hour.
