Bennie Jones

Bennie Ruth Jones, age 86, of Bryant, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM ET on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother David Higdon officiating. She will be laid to rest at Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Moore Funeral Home in Bryant on Thursday from 12:00 PM ET until the service hour.

Sister Bennie loved going to church and was an encourager to those seeking the Lord. She found the Lord later in life at the age of 79. On July 22, 2018, the Lord gave her what she considered the greatest gift, the Holy Ghost, and healed her of Parkinson’s disease. This was Sister Bennie’s favorite testimony and one she joyfully shared with others. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Velera Cooper; her husband, Thomas Jones; her son, Roger Walker; and her sister, Margaret Hill.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Ricky (Trish) Cooper and Keith (Sheila) Jones; her brother, Jerry (Renee) Cooper; grandchildren, Benji (Cheryl) Cooper, Brad (Stephanie) Cooper, Kevin Cooper, David (Carrie) Jones, and Brittany (Kendall) Mashburn; and ten great-grandchildren.

Brent Hill, Bret Hill, Chris Robinson, Seth Hill, Kenny Hill, and Tim Hill will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to her caregivers, Shannon Reed and Selena Reed, for their loving care and support.
