Billy Dewayne Black, 49, of Ider, AL, peacefully passed away at his home on Friday, May 17, 2024, after a long health battle.
A funeral service to celebrate Billy's life will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. The service will be led by Adam Watkins, Carter Tinker’s dad (Coach Brent Tinker), and Reverend Reggie Byrum. Billy will be laid to rest at Trenton Baptist Cemetery.Those who wish to pay their respects can visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the service commences.
Billy was a die-hard Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves fan. His passion for sports extended to coaching middle and high school football in Ider and Valley Head, where he inspired players with his words of encouragement. Music was another love of his, showcasing his talent as a musician through songwriting, guitar playing, and singing a range of genres from gospel hymns to southern rock on his back deck. His infectious sense of humor never failed to bring laughter to those around him. He was a source of encouragement and loved by many.Tuesday, May 21, 2024
