Charles William “Sherm” Hicks, age 43, of Bryant, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at his home due to complications from a motorcycle accident.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Whitt Cemetery in Trenton, Georgia.
Charles was a free spirit who lived life on his own terms. He spent most of his life working in the construction industry, where he became known as a true jack of all trades, always willing to lend a hand and take on any challenge.
He loved the outdoors and could often be found fishing, riding motorcycles, or off-roading whenever he had the chance. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and never turned down a cold Mountain Dew.
Above all, Charles loved his family. The memories he created with them will be cherished for years to come.
He is survived by his parents, Eddie and Doris Hicks; his children, Dixie Hicks (Sam) and Lucas Hicks; his grandsons, Westin Hicks and Rhett Benefield; his brother, David Hicks; his sister, Brianna Hicks (Dalton); along with several extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Lee and Nellie Hicks, and William and Ruth Thornton.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moore Funeral Home to help the family with burial expenses.
