Charlie Lofty

Charles “Charlie” William Lofty, age 68, of Trenton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026, with his family by his side.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Larry Moore Memorial Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Dewayne Moon officiating. Interment will follow at Head Springs Cemetery in Valley Head, Alabama.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.

Charlie was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving grandfather whose grandbabies were truly the center of his world. A hardworking provider, he spent many years at TN River Gardens, where his strong work ethic and reliability were evident in the fact that he never missed a day. Charlie had a gift for gab and never met a stranger. He was always ready to stop and talk with anyone about just anything. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and shopping. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures and in the people around him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Terry Lofty; his children, Joshua DeShawn Lofty, Marie Antoniette Lofty, Michael Lofty, Donald Wayne (Marisa) Lofty, Timothy James (Gayle) Lofty, and Dustin Heath Lofty; daughter-in-law, Brittany Lofty; sisters, Melba June (Fred) Alexander and Fran; sister-in-law, Patsy (Lloyd) McElhaney; brother-in-law, Richard Gifford; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward and Melba Standerfer Lofty; and sister-in-law, Terri Lofty.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his bosses, Mike and Joel, for coming to see Charlie and for their many years of friendship.
