Coy Newton

Coy Lee Newton, age 89, of Trenton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Born on February 25, 1936, he was a beloved son of the late Herman and Mildred Newton.

Coy deeply cherished his family and treasured every moment spent with them. He had a passion for fishing and had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone he met, treating all as friends. His children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and those he embraced as family were the center of his world.

A funeral service to honor the life and legacy of Coy will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 2:00 PM ET at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Jason Blake officiating.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home from 11:00 AM ET until the funeral hour. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kim, Cheryl, Donnie, and Patrick Newton; grandchildren, Michael (Taylor) Newton, Tyler (Kristin) Hicks, Collen, Chevy, Summer, Tyler, Chad, Leeandra, Raelee, Stephanie, and Crystal. Coy also had 22 great-grandchildren and looked forward to welcoming one more great-grandson, Raynes Coy Newton.

In addition to his parents, Coy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda Newton; his children, Ashley, Thomas, Bobby, and Jessie; grandchildren, Makayla, Chase, and Zachery; and his siblings, Dimple Jo Mullins, Robert Newton and Kathy Newton.

The family would also like to extend sincere gratitude to Hearth Hospice for their compassionate care of Coy in his final days; to special friend, Mrs. Finley for her companionship, and to Tyler and Kristin for the devotion to their Papaw.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Newton, Tyler Hicks, Chevy Newton, Jimmy Sutton, Bryan Sutton, and Chris Sutton.

Coy Lee Newton will be remembered for his loving spirit and the lasting impact he has made on the lives of those who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
