David Oglesby

David Wayne Oglesby, 66, of Bryant, AL, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024.

David was a dedicated and hardworking man who retired as a journeyman electrician. He loved the great outdoors, often spending his time fishing and boating. David was an avid sports fan and enjoyed simple pleasures like an ice-cold Coca-Cola. Above all, David loved his family deeply and took great pride in his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He also served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Jan Oglesby; his sons, Bobby and James Oglesby; and his siblings, James Arthur Oglesby, Phyllis Schultze, Lisa Oglesby, Rosa Henshaw, and Carolyn Lynell Oglesby-Gulley. David's legacy also includes his grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Oglesby, Tristan Oglesby, and Elizabeth Oglesby, along with his great-granddaughter, Hazel Marie Oglesby.

David was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lorraine Oglesby; and his sister, Sheila Foe. 

He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.

A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
