Diane Carol Johns, age 87, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

She was born in St Louis, Mo on November 9, 1938 to the late James W. Berg and Mable Lillian Lewis Berg. She lived 20 years in Florida and married Edward Johns in 1982 and moved to Michigan where she lived for 42 years. She worked as a bank teller, but mostly she enjoyed working in a collectibles shop. She served as president of her condominium board for many years and made lifelong friends in her community. Later, she moved to Chattanooga, TN and lived with her daughter and son-in-law for her remaining years.

She loved to travel and went to most of the National Parks. She loved lighthouses, full moons and the Florida beaches. She loved “Snoopy” and was fond of playing Rummikub each day with her daughter.

She cherished spending time with all of her family and was a devoted mother to Linda (Doug) Bivins, MD, Tom (Tracy) Williams, and Mike (Janet) Williams; and stepmother to Karin (Charles) Kopko, Randall Johns , Cynthia Berkey and David Johns. She had 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was a proud aunt to 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Edward Scott Johns; her sister, Shirley V. Frank; and her aunt, Ruth Calvin.

In lieu of flowers, Diane's family encourages everyone to honor her memory in a meaningful way: call someone you love, share a meal with someone special, or make a donation to a charity of your choice. These simple acts of kindness and connection are a fitting tribute to a woman who understood the value of friendship, family, and time spent together.

Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, Georgia, is honored to serve the Johns family.
