Diane Tate

Lara Diane Tate, age 70, of Rainsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

A funeral service to celebrate Diane’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in the Larry Moore Memorial Chapel of Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, Georgia. Brother Joey Kelly will officiate the service. Diane will be laid to rest at Payne’s Chapel Cemetery in the Hinkle community of Lookout Mountain, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Diane lived most of her life in the Hinkle community, where she raised her two sons and built a life centered around the people she loved. Her family meant everything to her, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Cross Connection Church in Chickamauga, Georgia. Diane enjoyed tending to her flowers, cheering for the Atlanta Braves, and watching the birds outside her home. She had a special fondness for redbirds and hummingbirds.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Tate; her parents, Everett and Cora Wilson; her sister, Deborah Jean Travis; and her brother, Paul Everett Wilson.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Keith King and his wife, Kristi, and James King and his wife, Nicki; her sister, Virginia Morton; nine grandchildren, Ethan King, Derakh King, Gage King, Lexi King, Gavin King, Adrien King, Jami Straub, Dakota King, and Owen King; ten great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
