CRANDALL, GA.: Douglas Delano Avans, 74, passed away October 4, 2020. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and member of the American Legion, Chatsworth, GA.
He is preceded in death by his son Micah Avans; parents Earl James and Grace Smith Avans; brothers O’Dell Avans and Gary L. Avans.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving companion Virgie Howard; children Valarie, Michelle, Alan, Wesley, and David Avans; sisters Janet Dalton and Earline Simmons; brothers Anthony and Randy Avans; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 12:00 PM EDT at the Poplar Springs Cemetery. Brother Joel Jenkins will officiate the service.
