Eddie “Cowboy” McBryar, age 74, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, July 25, 2025, at his home in Rising Fawn, GA.
A true original, Cowboy was known far and wide for his trademark cowboy hat, belt buckle, and boots. He had a deep love for the outdoors, horses, and the simple pleasures of life. In true cowboy fashion, he once rode horseback all the way from Dade County, GA to Montgomery, AL.
For many years, he co-owned the Depot Diner in Rising Fawn alongside his daughter, where his warm personality and down-home hospitality made everyone feel welcome. Cowboy enjoyed helping others, admired the beauty of nature (and pretty women), and had a soft spot for animals. But above all, he loved his family dearly and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Charlotte McBryar; daughters, Treva (Allen Williams) McBryar and Reva Henry; beloved grandchildren, Katie Henry and Kaylee George; brother, Jerry (Stella) McBryar; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Bertha Holder McBryar, and siblings, Imogene Tate, Bernice Smith, Charlotte Fossett, Theodore “Mac” McBryar, and Joe McBryar.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29th at 1:00 PM at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 28th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
