Edna Mae Redger, 93, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

Edna was born on October 21, 1932, in Trenton, Georgia, to the late Thomas and Mary Shelton. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing the piano in church for many years.

A talented cook and baker, Edna was well known among her family for her homemade pies, casseroles, cakes, candies, and other favorites. Her love of cooking led to the publication of Grandma Walker’s Cookbook, a collection of recipes that can continue to be shared by her family for generations.

Edna was also a skilled seamstress and worked for many years with Morris Drapery. Above all, she loved her family and especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Wanda (Gary) Coley, Terry (Jacqui) Walker, Kevin (Loretta) Walker, and Rita Leavesley; siblings, Darlene Chastain, Tene Bolton, T.J. Shelton, and Leonard Shelton; daughter-in-law, Paula Walker; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her son, Rick Walker; husbands, Wilburn Walker and Ernest Redger; and siblings, Martha Jones, Jackie Clark, Burma Plumlee, and Mildred Hollingsworth.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM ET on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Gib Dock Stephens Cemetery in Trenton, Georgia.
