Iva Lee Poole, affectionately known as “Lee,” was born November 18, 1928, in Jackson County, Alabama, and departed this life on December 20, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama, at the age of 97. She lived a long and meaningful life marked by faith, hard work, and devotion to her family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM EST on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, with Pastor James Duckworth officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Dutton, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 3:00 PM EST until 7:00 PM EST, and again on Tuesday from 11:00 AM EST until the hour of service. The funeral home is located at 1474 AL HWY 73 in Bryant, Alabama.

Mrs. Poole attended grade school in Pisgah, Alabama. In the 1950s, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she was employed by Sunbeam and later Reliable Electric. In 1972, she relocated to Huntsville, Alabama, where she continued her working career for many years with UAW, earning respect for her dedication and strong work ethic.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Poole faced many challenges with strength and courage. She was a survivor of pituitary gland cancer and breast cancer, and her perseverance was an inspiration to those who knew her. Her faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life, and she is now at rest in Heaven with her Lord and Savior.

Mrs. Poole was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her son, Jim D. (Paulette) Pemberton; her sister, Violet Faye (Gus) Baugh; five grandchildren, David Pemberton, Brad (Julia) Pemberton, Renee (Jon) Adam, Veronica Pemberton, and Stuart Pemberton; and eight great-grandchildren, Amanda, Nick, Quinn, Lincoln, Tyler, Olivia, Colton, and Adelaide.

In addition to her parents, Henry Pearl and Georgia Hodge Davis, Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her husbands, LC “Bill” Pemberton and John Wade Poole; her brothers and sisters, Floyd Davis and his wife Hazel, Margaret “Dutch” Hall and her husband Ulysses, Bill Davis, Clevdell “Dell” Holcomb and her husband Carl, Melvin L. Davis and his wife Sarah, and Junior D. Davis; and her great-granddaughter, Ava Rae Adam.

Mrs. Poole enjoyed traveling and especially cherished time spent cruising with her husband John’s sister, during which she visited many places and created lasting memories. In her early years, she was part of a sharecropping family, an experience that instilled in her the values of hard work and perseverance.

She was a faithful member of Life Church for many years, where she found strength and fellowship until the COVID-19 pandemic limited her attendance. Her faith remained steadfast throughout her life.

Mrs. Iva Lee Poole will be remembered for her strong faith, enduring strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will continue to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
