James Aiken, Jr

James Wallace Aiken, Jr., age 57, of Bryant, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

James was born on December 20, 1968, to Joyce Vaughn Aiken and the late James Wallace Aiken, Sr. At the heart of James’s life was his family. He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, son, and brother who treasured the people closest to him and found his greatest joy in simply being surrounded by those he loved.

James will be remembered for his kind heart and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need. Helping others came naturally to him, and the kindness and generosity he showed throughout his life left a lasting impression on his family and friends. He also enjoyed the freedom of the open road and especially loved riding motorcycles, watching Duke basketball, and Alabama football.

Throughout his illness, James faced each day with courage and determination. His long battle with cancer was a testament to his strength and perseverance, but even during the difficult days, the love he had for his family remained at the center of his life. Those who knew and loved James will remember not only the challenges he faced, but more importantly, the good-hearted man he was and the many memories they were blessed to share with him.

James is survived by his children, Wesley (Bianca) Aiken, Jessica Aiken, and Katelyn (Garrett) George; his wife, Sandra Aiken; his mother, Joyce Aiken; his sisters, Annette Aiken and Lynne Aiken; his beloved grandchildren, Haleigh Aiken and Harper Aiken; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cindy (Rickey) Hill; and extended family members, Chris (Michelle) Shaw. He also leaves behind many other extended family members, loved ones, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

In keeping with James’s wishes, a memorial service will be held from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM ET on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Mountain View Church of God in Bryant, Alabama.

James’s memory will live on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the many cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
