Janice McCloud Holland

Janice Louise (McCloud) Holland, a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, was welcomed home to Heaven on, Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in Flat Rock, Alabama, at the age of 80.

A funeral service to honor the life of Janice will be held at 1:00 PM EST on Saturday, December 27, 2025 in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Jaron Tinker officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Flat Rock.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM EST and on Saturday from 11:00 AM EST until the service hour.  

Born on September 9, 1945, in Henagar, Alabama, she was truly a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her. Throughout her life, Janice devoted herself to a variety of endeavors that showcased her caring nature and strong work ethic. She found fulfillment working in the hosiery industry and later partnered with her husband James in their lawn care business. Janice also shared her nurturing spirit as a caregiver and babysitter, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many families.

Janice's vibrant personality shone through in her love for music. She often sang beautiful songs, making countless memories with her family during gatherings. Her devotion to her family was unwavering; she cherished every moment spent in their company and built a lifetime of precious memories with them.

A devoted Christian, Janice found strength and comfort in her faith as a member of Fairview Church of God. Her belief in the Lord guided her, and she was a loving example of compassion and generosity to those around her. Her love for gardening and sewing reflected her nurturing spirit, and she found happiness in taking care of her chickens. A lover of life, Janice also played softball in her younger years, relishing every moment spent in the sun and camaraderie.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 33 years, James T. Holland of whom she loved and adored dearly; her beloved children, Tamara (Linwood) Reed, Tracy (Jerry) Kinard, and Kristie (Randall) Flowers; her five adored grandchildren, Julia (Will) Richardson, Dylan (Elizabeth) Kinard, Daniel Reed, Will Schanley, and Julie Reed, and her heart swelled with joy at the arrival of her great-grandchild, Holland Rose Richardson; her five siblings, Bert McCloud, Edward McCloud, Linda Shavers, O'Neal McCloud, and Curtis (Sha) McCloud. She is further survived by 13 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews, all of whom benefited from her loving guidance and support.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Delia (Lea) McCloud along with her brothers, Lyneal, Jack and Bob McCloud.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sandy Holmon, Dana Hancock, Clayton Welden and to her favorite hospice nurses, Nikki Harris and Caitlyn Pruitt.
