Listen to Obituary

Jarrett Allen Moore, Sr., age 60, of the New Salem Community on Lookout Mountain, passed away at his home on Friday, October 17, 2025.

If you ever met Jarrett, chances are you’ve got a story to tell. He was one of a kind, a true character with a big personality who could make friends anywhere he went. He never met a stranger and was known for greeting everyone with a grin and his trademark, “Hey Baddaddy, how are you doing?” He was the life of the party, quick with a joke, and had a way of bringing laughter and energy to every room he entered.

Jarrett was a talented carpenter by trade and the proud owner of Moore & Son Construction for many years. Though he hadn’t been able to work in recent years, he remained proud of the projects he built and the friendships that came with them.

An outdoorsman and adventurer at heart, Jarrett loved hunting, golfing, and especially red fishing in Fort Morgan, Alabama. He was happiest outside with good company, good weather, and a good story to tell.

Jarrrett wasn’t perfect, and he’d be the first to admit it. He could be tough—especially on those he loved most—but his family always knew where they stood with him. Beneath that rough edge was a big heart, a sharp wit, and a man who loved deeply in his own way.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jarrett “Jabo” (Lindsey) Moore and Tynsley (Matthew) Donaldson; brother, Garron Moore; sister, Nicole Moore; and grandchildren, Briar and Lane Moore, and Jaxx and Benaiah Donaldson. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman C. Moore, Jr.; mother, Barbara Kyzer McKaig; and stepfather, Richard McKaig.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in the Larry Moore Memorial Chapel of Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA, with Brother Eddie Cantrell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00–8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10:00–11:00 AM.

Anyone who knew Jarrett knows there’ll never be another quite like him. He lived life his own way—loud, funny, and unforgettable—and if you listen close, you can almost hear him saying, “Hey Baddaddy… it’s all good.”
