Joi Marie Stocker

Joi Marie Stocker, a resident of Apison, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at the age of 77.

A funeral service to celebrate Joi's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in the Larry Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Travis Ballinger officiating. Following the service, a private burial will take place at Bryant Cemetery in Bryant, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. 

Joi was a native of Bryant, Alabama and was born on February 22, 1949 to the late John and Mary Gray. She was a member of Redemption Point Church in Ooltewah where she enjoyed fellowship and worship alongside her brothers and sisters in Christ. Joi also enjoyed shopping, taking care of animals and plants, baking, going to the beach, traveling, spending time with her family, Bible study and watching Hallmark movies. Joi worked for many years at Target as a cashier and enjoyed serving her customers with heartfelt dedication. She also worked as a Bank Teller before her official retirement.

Joi was also preceded in death by her husband, Ron Hunnings and two brothers, Bill and Jackie Gray.

Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Murphy; son-in-law, Jimmy Murphy; brother, Kenneth Donald Gray, two granddaughters, Bliss Murphy and Julia Murphy. 

The family would like to send a special thanks to her niece, Amy Cranfield and also to Tammy Kuipers.
