Lorene McCloud, age 84, of Bryant, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Just a few weeks earlier, she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

A memorial service to celebrate Lorene's life will be held at 6:30 PM ET on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the service hour.

Lorene was born on July 13, 1941, in Hollywood, Alabama, to the late Elmer and Susie Akins Williams. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of those around her with her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for her family.

Lorene married the love of her life, Bob McCloud, and together they shared 68 wonderful years of marriage before his recent passing. Their life together took them to North Carolina and Florida before eventually returning home to Bryant, Alabama. Along the way, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that continue to live on through their family.

Lorene had a special love for children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Having helped raise children from a young age, caring for others became a defining part of who she was. She was known for her kind and compassionate spirit, strong work ethic, and willingness to help those around her.

A talented crocheter, Lorene spent countless hours creating intricate clothing for her children and beautifully crafted outfits for dolls. She was also an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for those she loved. In her spare time, she found joy in the outdoors, tending her garden, and working in her yard.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane McCloud; grandchildren, Chezarae (Aaron) Courts and Bobbie Jo McCloud; and great-grandchildren, Lain Courts, Kaitlin Reyna, Zoey Wade, Isabella Courts, Emory Courts, and Scarlett Moon McCloud.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob McCloud; son, Ronnie McCloud; and siblings, Albert Williams, Ruby Williams, Buddy Williams, J.N. Williams, and Leola Stacey.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the love, support, and prayers shown during this difficult time.
