Louella Harriod

Louella Harriod, known affectionately as Granny to her loved ones, passed away peacefully in her home in Lookout Valley, TN on April 30th, 2023, at the age of 97. Surrounded by loved ones, she took her final breath and left behind a lifetime of unforgettable memories.

Born on September 2nd, 1925, in Jackson County, AL to David and Rebecca Sharp, Louella had four siblings: Flora Bailey, Minnie Martin, Frank Sharp and James Sharp. She married James F. Harriod and together they had seven children: Wanda (Marvin) Couch, Virginia Graham, William Harriod, Lloyd Lee (Kathy) Harriod, Edgar (Michelle) Harriod. Sadly, she lost two sons in her lifetime; George Max Sharp and Edd Harriod.

She retired after years as a custodian for the City of Chattanooga, where she worked diligently and created fond memories with her colleagues. Louella placed people above everything else. Spending time with family and friends was always among her top priorities.

Louella is survived by fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Wendy Harriod; and others who will miss her deeply.

Visitation services in memory of Louella will begin on Friday, May 5th from 4 pm to 8 pm followed by another visitation on Saturday May 6th from 11 am to 1 pm at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA. Her funeral service will follow at 1 pm on Saturday with Pastor Tommy Messer. Final resting arrangements will take place at Lakewood Memory Gardens West on Monday at 10 am.

As we mourn the loss of Louella's candid demeanor following a life well-lived reminds us that our memories shared over countless meals or special moments stay with us forever. May she rest in peace knowing that she will be missed deeply but remembered lovingly always.
