Maggie Shavers Gilbert Wanamaker

Maggie Shavers Gilbert Wanamaker of Trenton, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the age of 90. Maggie was born May 30, 1931 to the late Silas and Naomi Duncan Shavers. She enjoyed fishing, quilting and genealogy. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Maggie was predeceased by husband, Albert “Achee” Gilbert; granddaughter Carla Carter; siblings, Cecil Shavers, Mary Katherine Craig, Carmen Shavers, Paul Shavers, Huey Lee Shavers and Johnny Shavers.

Left to cherish her memory are husband, Bill Wanamaker; daughter, Lisa (Reggie Higdon) Shrader; sons, Eddie (Delores) Gilbert, Mike (Nancy) Gilbert and Donald (Sherralynn) Gilbert; step-daughters, Deborah (Danny) Johnson and Gina George; grandchildren, Donald II, Michelle, Chris, Phillip, Kindra, Michael, Andrew and Bryson; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM ET on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Friendship Baptist Church in Pisgah, AL with Reverend Wayne Winters officiating. She will be laid to rest at Friendship Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM ET at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home and on Friday from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM ET at the church.
