Mike was born on November 23, 1953, to the late Wayne and Betty Stewart Gibson. He spent much of his adult life in Nashville, Tennessee, before eventually returning to his roots in Douglas, a place he was proud to call home.

Mike had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, where time seemed to slow down. He enjoyed hiking and searching for Native American and Civil War artifacts. His adventurous spirit and curiosity led him to explore the world around him and appreciate the stories found along the way.

Music was another lifelong passion. Mike loved country music and was an accomplished guitarist who performed throughout the Nashville area during his younger years. Whether sharing a song with friends or enjoying the peacefulness of the outdoors, he embraced life with a free spirit and a genuine love for the things that brought him joy.

He will be remembered for his adventurous heart, his love of music, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Valerie Gibson, Crystal Gibson, Joseph Gibson, Nigel (Jennifer Sheffield) Gibson, and Greg (Elizabeth) Gibson; his siblings, Frankie (Linda) Gibson, Susan (Danny) Brothers, Charlene (Richard) Kilgore, Sharon Bonds, and Angela Bright; his grandchildren, Jasmine Gibson, Alexis Gibson, Alana Gibson, Zenith Gibson, Imogen Gibson, Michael Gibson, and Lucien O'Keefe; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Gibson; and his granddaughter, Avalena Gibson.
