Peewee Payne

Louis "Peewee" Eugene Payne, 88, of Rising Fawn, GA, passed away peacefully at his home on May 19, 2023. He was surrounded by his family and friends during his last moments. Peewee was born on March 14, 1935, in Rising Fawn, GA to Conard and Edna Payne.

Peewee was a hardworking man with a great sense of humor who always had a wise word to say and a warm welcome for everyone he met. He spent most of his career as the owner of Glass Farm Nursery and P&P Produce until his retirement.

Peewee had many hobbies and interests including working around the farm, fishing, and helping others. This kind-hearted man will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 22 in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Cantrell officiating.  He will be laid to rest in Byrds Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 21 from 2:00 - 7:00 PM and on Monday from 11:00 AM until the service hour.

Peewee is survived by his daughters, Sandy Payne, Charlotte (Paul) Payne, Lisa (Sammy) Rice, Tina (Jeeter) Payne, and Dee (Robert) Owens; best dog, Boy; sister, Joyce Morrison Russell; brothers, Perry and Bozo Payne; grandchildren, Sky Bolton, Stormy (Dane) Robinson, Michael Lowery, and Kolt Owens; great-grandchildren, Maelee Robinson, Addie Gass, Kalloway Lowery, and Banks Lowery; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Peewee is predeceased by his wife, Peggy Payne; parents, Conard and Edna Payne; brothers, Freddie Payne, W.C. Payne, Gorden Lee Payne, Felix Payne, and Larry Payne.

Peewee will be deeply missed by his loved ones and the community that he was a part of. He'll always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His positive outlook on life and his love for all those around him will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Peewee.
