RALPH MATHEWS   RISING FAWN, GA: Ralph Garnett Mathews, age 88, of the New Salem Community, passed away July 16, 2018. He was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Cleveland and Ethel Virginia Mathews; siblings Ione Miller, Clarice Hawkins, Felix, Philip, Troy, and George Mathews. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-three years, Ruth Mathews; children and their spouses; Reta Massey; Roxane and Larry Kilgore; Renae and Lee Powell; Regina Mathews; Ronda Higdon; Rosalie Baldwin; Rusty and Charlsie Mathews; Ralph Mathews, Jr.; Randall Mathews; Ritchie and Renee Mathews; sister Joyce (Jerry) Smith; sister-in-law Marcie Mathews; brother Herbert (Rachel) Mathews; twenty-three grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM EDT Thursday, July 19, 2018 in the Trenton Chapel with Brother Gene Strauss and Brother David Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Hawkins Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday 4:00 ~ 8:00 PM; Thursday 10:00 PM ~ 2:00 PM EDT.
