Randy Lawson, age 57, of Trenton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, after a brave and courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).
A funeral service to celebrate Randy's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026, in the Larry Moore Memorial Chapel of Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, Georgia, with Brother Billy Joe Conner officiating. He will be laid to rest at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Moore Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM and on Monday from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
Randy was born on September 19, 1968, to Rita Lawson and the late David Lawson. A man of profound faith, Randy loved Jesus deeply and lived his life with a heart full of gratitude, always thankful for the many blessings bestowed upon him. Above all else, he cherished his family and his beloved friends.
A tireless worker and entrepreneur, Randy opened Randy’s Pawn Shop in Trenton, Georgia, in 1990 at the young age of 21. For 36 years, he poured his heart into the business, becoming a master of the “wheel and deal.” He possessed a rare gift – he could sell absolutely anything and formed genuine, lasting connections with almost everyone who walked through his doors. Alongside the pawn shop, Randy owned an excavating company. He loved the dirt work and the heavy machinery. It was not only a job but his passion.
Randy spent many years riding his road bike competitively and successfully completed numerous 100-mile Century rides across the Southeast United States. He was incredibly proud of his time on the bike and valued the deep friendships he forged along the miles.
Randy will be remembered as an exceptionally generous and kind-hearted man. He was always the first to lend a hand, offering financial support or a helping word to any friend in need without hesitation.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Coleen Lawson; his children, Michael (Logan) Greene, Gavin Blankenbaker, Jeff Marius and Emily Greene; and his cherished grandson, Colter. He also leaves behind his mother, Rita Lawson; his brother, Mike (Stephanie) Lawson; his sisters, Kristie (Greg) Meadows and Leah (Sean) Martin; his nephews, Heath, Hunter, Nick and Tristin; his nieces, Hannah, Paige, Haven, Addie and Kylie; in-laws, Cal and Jeanne Walsh and sister-in-law, Erica (Jason) Dambach.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, David Lawson, and his nephew, Chase Porter.
His legacy of hard work, faith and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will greatly missed.
The family would like to give a special thanks to some very special people that provided both physical and emotional support through a difficult time; Charlotte Cuticchia, Austin Sharp and Greg Wooten. They will forever be part of the family.
