Reverend Bobby Melvin McFalls, 90, formerly of Cowpens, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Born in Clifton, SC, he was the loving husband of Nancy Marie Coleman McFalls for 68 years and son of the late George Stanley McFalls and Mae Short McFalls. He was a graduate of Cowpens High School and Fruitland Bible College. Bob was a United States Air Force Veteran, having served in the Korean War and was very proud to serve his country. He had a great love for all animals, but he especially loved his childhood horse, Maude. Bob lived in many places in his lifetime, but his heart was always in Cowpens. Reverend McFalls served his Lord for 38 years in ministry and was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife also surviving is a son, Mark Thomas McFalls (Diane) of Fort Myers, FL; a daughter, Eva Gass (Michael) of Trenton, GA; six grandchildren, Joshua Gass, Jessica Gass, Matthew McFalls, Rachel McFalls Hovenden (Michael), Brandon McFalls and Heather McFalls Thorn (Harry); four great-grandchildren, Georgia Hovenden, Brigg Hovenden, Emmi Thorn and Poppy Thorn; a niece, Vicki Shipp; a great-niece, Brooke Shipp; two great nephews, Scott McFalls and Stanley McFalls. Reverend McFalls was preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” McFalls.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Cross Roads Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the church with Reverend Rich Lancaster officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Fort Price Memorial Gardens.
