Steven Edward Norman, age 73, of Ringgold, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
A homegoing service to celebrate Steve's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in the Larry Moore Memorial Chapel of Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA, with Bro. David Marona and Bro. Heath Morton officiating. Following the service, Steve will be laid to rest at Stacy Family Cemetery in Flat Rock, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
Steve was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 22, 1952 to the late Louis and Ruby Norman. He was member of Calvary Way Baptist Church in Chickamauga and was dedicated husband, father, "Papaw," great-grandpa, and a friend to many. He retired from Georgia Pacific in Chattanooga following 26 years of service. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and an was an avid Alabama Football fan. Steve also enjoyed spending time together with his family, especially his grandchildren. Although Steve's passing has left a void in his family and community, he is now resting in the presence of his Heavenly Father and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Steve is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 31 years, Connie Plemons Norman; his brother, Raymond Virgil Norman; and a sister, Deborah Harrell and grandson, Stevie Wayne McNab.
Steve is survived by his children, Melissa Dawn Morton, Janice (Oscar) Roach, Heath (Tracey) Morton and Jeremy (Jenni) Norman; brother-in-law, Lebron (Andrea) Plemons; grandchildren, Sean (Kayla) Self, Blake (Michaela) Morton, Mikaila (Cordell) McNabb, Amanda (Tucker) Green, Jessica (Cody) Bearden and Jasmine Turley; great-grandchildren, Kota, Riley, Artie, Hadley, Walker, Mattie, Paisley, Saylor, Lainey, Ellie, Levi, Zane, Chase, Cheyenne and a host of special friends and extended family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Tapestry Hospice for their compassion and care delivered during Steve's final days.
