Tressie Hollingsworth

Tressie O’Brient Hollingsworth, age 77, of Lookout Mountain, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

Tressie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he served with honor in the 82nd Airborne and alongside the 101st. Known for his incredible ability to fix just about anything, Tressie was a skilled mechanic and a true jack of all trades. He enjoyed spending time on the CB radio, where he was known by his handle “Swampy.”

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy Hollingsworth; sons, Allen, Wayne, and Greg (Sharon) Hollingsworth; brother, Johnny (Deborah) Hollingsworth; sister, Nancy Hollingsworth; grandsons, Michael (Savannah) Brown, Chris (Lora) Brown, Tyler Hollingsworth, and Matthew Hollingsworth; and several great-grandchildren.

Tressie’s family was the center of his world, and his steadfast love and guidance will remain in their hearts forever. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Oma Dee Hollingsworth; his cherished daughter, Angela Brown; and siblings, Tommy, Jimmy, and Marie Hollingsworth.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Tressie’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 22, at 12:00 PM in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, with Brother Shane Williams officiating. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
