Wanda Barton

Edna Wanda Barton, lovingly known as Wanda, passed away on May 21, 2023, at the age of 85 in her home in Trenton, GA, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 24, 1937, in Henagar, AL. Wanda was a homemaker and her family meant everything to her. She loved cooking for them and spending time with them.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.  She will be laid to rest at Paynes Gap Cemetery in Flat Rock, AL.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the service hour.

Wanda was a devoted member of Fairview Church of God and took pride in serving her church community. Among her hobbies and interests were working in the yard and being with her family. Wanda will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Wanda is survived by her children, Gale (Ronnie) Hawkins, Drenda York, and Doug Barton; brother, Ronnie O'dell; grandchildren, Devonna (Jeremy) Taylor and Adam York; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Barton; parents, Jasper and Ethel O'Dell, sisters, Mary Lou O'Dell, Edith Johnson, Dorthy Wall, Inez Kunsman, Earline Vandagriff, and brother Darrell O'Dell.

Rest in peace Wanda Barton; you will be forever missed but always cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Taylor, Logan Taylor, Greyson Taylor, Jacob Barker, Coco Colbert, and Donnie Hawkins.
