William Smith

William Kinning Smith IV, age 79, of Rising Fawn, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 23, 2026.

William was a proud veteran of the United States Army who served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. For his bravery and sacrifice, he was awarded the Purple Heart.

Known for his quick wit and easygoing spirit, William loved to joke and never missed a chance to make others smile. He lived life fully, enjoyed the outdoors, and loved collecting firearms.

Though William did not have immediate family, he was blessed with those he loved and considered his own. He is survived by his companion, Kathy Turner; his son, Brandon McBryar (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Brandon McBryar Jr., Kaydon McBryar, and Braxdon McBryar; and Kathy’s daughter, Michelle Willis. Their love, friendship, and companionship meant the world to him.

In accordance with his wishes, William will be cremated and no formal service will be held.
