William Allman Tyndall, age 87, of Bryant, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
A funeral service to celebrate William’s life will be held on Sunday, July 5th, at 2:00 p.m. CT (3:00 p.m. ET) in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother William C. Tyndall officiating. He will be laid to rest at Oak Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. CT (12:00 p.m. ET) until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Born on July 1, 1939, in Dunn, North Carolina, William was the son of the late William and Emma Winters Tyndall. At a young age, he married the love of his life, Emma Hazel Winters. Together they shared 54 years of marriage before her passing in 2011.
William was a man of honor, integrity, and dedication to his family and his country. He proudly served in the United States Army for 21 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. A true patriot, he lived with a strong sense of duty and carried himself with quiet strength.
Known best by the title he treasured most, Papa, William loved his family and was proud of the generations that followed him. He enjoyed fishing and cheering on Alabama football.
He is survived by his children, Rita Tyndall, Donald Tyndall, and Ronald (Connie) Tyndall; his siblings, Robert Tyndall, William C. Tyndall, Dean Barbour, and Mae McClenny; his grandchildren, Amanda (Kyle) Wilbanks, Heather (Jeff) Pickett, Jeremy (Sarah) Tyndall, Nicholas Tyndall, and Krista (Dylan) Shelton; his great-grandchildren, Courtney Black, Kenzie Black, Dixie Pickett, Addie Pickett, Ashlyn Tyndall, Cyndel Pickett, William Elijah Shelton, Bronner Black, Chance Shelton, and Kaiden Workman; his great-great-grandchildren, Holden Riggens and Casen Riggens; along with numerous extended family members and many dear friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, William was preceded in death by his siblings, Elladean Travota and H.W. Griffin.
